Poetry assignment

Now that we understand figurative language and different types of poems, here’s your assignment!
You will create 6 poems (one of each kind) as we did together in class.
Your poetry will consist of one of each of the following:
-Haiku
-Diamante
-Acrostic
-Limerick
-Rhyming
-Free verse


Types of figurative language:
-Simile
-Metaphor
-Onomatopoeia
-Hyperbole
-Alliteration
-Personification
Here are my expectations:
-Each poem must follow the text characteristics of that particular poem
. You may refer to the examples and guidelines given in class. -Each poem must include figurative language. You can include as much figurative language as you wish in the poems but you must use each type of figurative language at least once in the project. You must indicate where the figurative language is with a symbol and what kind of figurative language it is after the poem.
-Each poem must include a picture.
- This assignment is a writing process
which means you will need to include a title page, brainstorming for the poems, rough copy, with corrections and publication. -Each poem must have proper punctuation, grammar and spelling.
　
-This assignment is due and to be presented Tuesday January 8^th, 2013. Think of creative ways in which to present your poems with a visual support!
- Your theme is Christmas and anything related to Christmas
